The o ring that connects the bottom tubing into the skimmer is drip leaking. I place a small bucket last night as a emergency replacement to catch the drip overnight. in about 15 hours in only accumulated about an inch. Is there anything i can do for a quick fix or do i need another O-RING. The only reason i ask is because i just ordered an Octopus100F HOB skimmer and should be coming in the next few days. I don't mind having the bucket collecting water until then but I just don't want it to get worse.

I think you'll be fine, just keep an eye on the bucket. Luna

You could use a latex glove stretched over it and cut and make a new temporary ring

homedepot or lowes would have a replacement o-ring in the plumbing dept. but if you are replacing the whole thing in a few day's and the drip is not all that bad. I would not even touch it. as long as you are planning on being around and look at the bucket from time to time, I would not mess with it.

Murphy's law, if you goto fix, it you might have other issues, and if you are making changes by the end of next week.. just wait it out. if the drip becomes more of a flow, then I would take the whole thing out.

    that's my 2 cents.

I had exactly the same problem with mine. Took it apart and wrapped the inside of the junction with teflon tape, then after hooking it up I wrapped the whole thing generously with electrical tape. It's pretty damn watertight now. :)
