Hi, im thinking of doing a mini(not quite nano) fowlr and i really want a black seahorse. my lfs has them at like 3" when their tail is slightly curled. Aren't they pretty hardy for an advanced-beginner? Anyway, i was wondering if the following fish could be kept with a black seahorse also.

    -sixline wrasse
    -firefish of all types
    -lawnmower blenny
    -neon goby
    -yellow clown gobies
    -blue gudgeon dartfish

PS: Please point out any fragile species that you see on my list.

The wrasse & blenny do not coexsist at all with sea horses. The fire fish and dartfish are all cautionary, I wouldn't advise it. The yellow clown goby may be a possibility only because they are so small and generally calm. Neon gobies have been known to be cleaner fish. If they attempt to clean the sea horse it may stress the sea horse out. Its is important to keep sea horses in a species tank. The main issues with fish compatability with sea horses are two pronged. First a tank mate must be calm so as to not stress the sea horse out. Any aggressiveness or even active behavior can stress the sea horse to death. Secondly, sea horses are notoriously slow eaters and do not do well with any tank mate that may compete for food. I advise researching the possible tank mates and confirm their compatability with any other fish you are interested in adding. I also suggest researching how to chose a sea horse from LFS and the care of the sea horse (which can vary depending if ifs tank bred or wild caught. Sea horse tanks can be very rewarding. I love my sea horse/pipe fish species tank.
