Hi, im thinking of doing a mini(not quite nano) fowlr and i really want a black seahorse. my lfs has them at like 3" when their tail is slightly curled. Aren't they pretty hardy for an advanced-beginner? Anyway, i was wondering if the following fish could be kept with a black seahorse also.

    -true perculas
    -sixline wrasse
    -firefish of all types
    -lawnmower blenny
    -neon goby
    -yellow clown gobies
    -blue gudgeon dartfish

PS: Please point out any fragile species that you see on my list.

No, seahorses really should be kept by themselves. They are very slow and specialized feeders that will not be able to eat with the other fish in there with them.

to tell you the truth then, id rather just have a bunch of the other fish than the seahorse. but still, can you point out any fish that are not quite hardy for a beginner

The lawnmower. They rarely accept prepared food and most end up starving to death due to a lack of algae.
    What sized tank?

Yep yep. I kinda compare them with my FW discus. Other, greedy, aggressive and jittery fishes would stress them out a whole lot.

Lawnmowers usually feed exclusively on various types of marine algae. I have had one befor that I coaxed into eating spirulina and nori but it only lasted a couple months.

ummmmmmmmm well, im bouncing between my 55 and my 20. i have one 55g fowlr with aggressive fish like triggers and puffers and an empty 55 and 20. i think i'll just do the 55. hey, can i ask a question, i dont have circulation for that empty 55 so i was wondering if i should get power filters or powerheads? im used to the extra trouble of hob's and i can commit to cleaning pads 3 times a week, and keeping it topped off. basically, i am asking if the filter actually is helpful, i would think so considering the nasty brown pads i get from my other hob's.

PS: i guess im not limited to nano-fish now that i decided 55. My otherr 55 is my cool tank, i guess that this next one is going to be my "not-so-vicious beautiful colors tank", basically a reef minus the inverts. that ought to keep my sister and mom from telling me in the lfs: "get a pretty nemo or a pretty dory". by the way, my sister is going to the university of florida next year, go gators! but yea, she can be pretty silly for a legal adult.
