Hi all. Been gone for a while and currently have the itch again. I just picked up a 135 glass tank with internal overflow. As Jessie James would say FREEEEBIE!!! it has a few chips on the top of the tank no moldings on it what so ever. And has had someone add silicone to all the internal seams. This was a in wall set up at one time and i am going to do the same. Should I just add water to it to test for leaks and if it doesn't call it good? Or should i strip the internal seams and reseal it? if so how is the best way? thanks in advance for any help.....I think i got lucky on this one ;D

Cool another local guy! I'm near Ontario! Getting it resealed is really a personal call. I would do it because you just never know. 135G is a ton of water to lose if the seals break loose, and you don't know if the previous owner used copper treatments. If course you can run O3 to break down any bad stuff that is still residing in the seams. If you do decide to reseal it, I would get it done professionally.

I was hard core into reef a tew years ago but got distracted by other projects. I work in Ontario Mike. I think your right on if I have it resealed to get it done correctly. I think I'm going to fill her up in the garage and lrt it set for a few days and go from there.

Awesome, better to leak in the garage than on the carpet. I did the same thing with my 150G tank before I put it in my house.
