Thanks, Mattias. Surprisingly, I tested the water after the spill and it measured 1.029. So the water I added turned out to be good top-off after all.

think a 5.5g fish tank should fit in the new cabinet next to the 10g sump. The 5.5g will become an ATO reservoir, and an Aqua Lifter dosing pump and a float switch form autotopoff.com

Man, you sure are making a whole lot of progress! I miss working on my aquarium like I used to. Right now I have a half finished Fish room, and refugium.
When summer break comes, I will begin working on it :p

You are doing an amazing job! I'm jealous!

Thank you! I really appreciate all the compliments! :D

It's a lot of hard work, but it's fun at the same time. :)

For the hanging bar, I followed this article in Reef Keeping magazine. It is a step-by-step to show you how to DIY your own light hanging unit. Pictured in the article, are two of the units over a larger tank. I will be doing a single one for my tank.

The three par30 bulbs will hag from the bar, on pulleys. The article uses Sunlight Supply Sun Lift pulleys, which can be found on Marine Depot at $24 per pair. That's a bit much for me, so I will do the pulleys differently.

To do this, I needed a conduit bender ($33), and a 10' section of conduit (a few dollars), and a sharpie to mark where my measurements are, two mounting brackets, mounting screws and end caps (purely aesthetic).

2 bends done. But one is in the wrong direction. Oops.

In case anyone was wondering...no, you can't undo a bend in conduit. haha

I cut off that end and started over on the other end. I worked as planned this time.

    Now I'm off to paint.

I wonder how difficult it would be to drill the return line without completely emptying the tank all the way? I am thinking I could just emptying it half way (when I have the new stand built and need to switch them out anyway), tape saran wrap around the inside of the tank, and start drilling. Does anyone see a problem with this?

This would be with all coral out of the tank, of course.

Possible shattering or oxygenation problems, but if no livestock is present....
