I didn't lift up the monti, but from what I can tell (it hangs over the rock a bit) there don't appear to be any be on the bottom. I will need to lift it up for a closer look.

I took the video from my droid...it's taking a while to upload.

Correction: *reactor output line is 3/8" ID tubing, not 3/4".*

Looks good man, lemme ask you. im familiar with these from users here, but what exactly do biopellets achieve? from the name bio- life and pellets well... yea i wanna say they add a place for bacteria to accumulate but the tumbling leads me otherwise.

do they excrete something as they are turned?

nice work on the reactor, care to come over and install one for me. I think i need you and biocube to come over and clean my setup up.

Hoping the tank takes a turn for the better. Ironically, your baby frog is doing great, while its daddy is struggling with the new wave maker.

    Thanks, SnookReds.

You have it right, biopellets are a porous surface area for bacteria (which consume NO3s and PO4s) to colonize upon. Most brands of pellets are made of PHP3/PHP4, which is a type of polymer material. This stuff tends to clump up when wet, which is why the media should be tumbling - to prevent clumping and to better allow the bacteria to colonize on its surfaces.

Is there an exhaustion period with these such as carbon and gfo? I think theyre pretty neat, but ive heard/read that these cause problems when first introduced. are you aware/looking for signs of this?
