    It's a spaghetti worm...harmless.

If you are planning on running ecobak, it is suggested o run your alk around 7.5-8 according to Jon Warner

Does it have 2 arms? I believe it is a spionid worm and it completely safe. The tube most likely is from sand grains and small coral chips.

Yes, 2 arms. I think that would be a more accurate ID, after looking at Google.

Take this with a grain of salt Seano but your monti doesn't look that bad. Not to say that the condition couldn't worsen but only time will tell. I've had my red Monti cap turn nearly completely white and loose PE for days(with Alk swings, always caused by manual dosing when my Apex was off-line). It's always come back.

I wouldn't quit the pellets just yet, especially since you just started them. They'll take a few weeks to get working anyway so leave em be :). You've checked the Monti for MEN and none found...so throw that out the window(not the coral). Your Midas Zoas are dying, pull them out of the tank so the die-off doesn't affect water quality.

In this hobby we often overthink things. Sometimes we react when we shouldn't and don't react when we should.

Thank you for the advice, Nismo. I will probably turn the reactor back on this evening after I test my parameters.

I received my Red Sea Reef Foundation Pro test kit(s) today, from Bulk Reef Supply. Lets just say I am very pleased with the quality. Full review this coming, this weekend.

My Monti has had those same spots and then gone....then back and forth
without a magnifier I cant tell but it appears to be some type of polyp extension

That's odd. Although I don't know of any other possible thing it could be. I haven't ever noticed much polp extension from mine. It's just too small to get a macro of (w.o. a true macro lens).
