Normally I can go to my phone and press "share photos." It hasn't been working lately. I might try tapatalk.

    AArrgh!

I decided to have some fun and see what the 55g(I had it in the garage already) would look like on the stand...yeah, it would probably look like a 55 gallon tank on a stand.

Well I went and lifted it up and set it on the stand.

I lined it up to the edges of the stand. Then I realized the tank is longer than the stand...it's about a 3/8" difference. Hmm...what should I do?

    I have a headache now..

I may add some of the 1/2" ply to one end of the stand. Then I will build off of that.

hey when you built that stand, I forget did you build it to be able to hold a 55g and the ability to upgrade to a 75g? or what is with the middle part??

The stand was built for my 75 with a cabinet behind it. I made it wide enough to fit a 55g sump underneath with a 10g ato tank behind. Because the stand is 24" wide I can upgrade to a 120 later on if I decide to do so. Simply remove the rear cabinet(not built in) and switch out the tanks. Keep the 55g sump.

The middle brace is where the back of the 75 will be sitting on the stand.

Yeah that's the 55 sump...just having fun. I can finally see this coming together. I have some awesome ides for the background. Not black. Not blue.

I filled the small edges in the stand b/w the 2X4 with adhesive caulk. I will sand it all down and repaint it for a nice waterproof stand.

gotcha, yeah Im thinking of doing something similar as well, I'm just about to build a new stand for my 55g and I'm thinking of building an extra thing in case I want to upgrade to a 75, that way I don't have to build another stand later haha :D

That's cool. The stand is 24" so with a 75g tank, I will have an 8" wide cabinet behind it. This will hide the overflow/return lines and some of the electrical. The cabinet/stand will sit almost flush against the wall(excluding floor trim width).
