Seaweed for tangs

    I want to know if i can just grab some seaweed from the ocean and feed it to my tangs, is the quality of seaweed good enough for them?

    i would be worried about possiblecontamination if close to the shore line however i dont see a problem with it. I would however wait for someone smatter to chime in

    I would not use the seaweed - who knows what is in it. Anything from chemical contaminants to biological pests. +1 on the dried nori sheets - quite in-expensive.

    I also wouldnt risk it as you can find Nori at your local grocery store in the Asian food aisle. I hope that is politically correct.
