Second job

For the past 4 years while I was on the submarine (USS Florida SSGN 728 Blue Crew, Hooya!) we were forward deployed in the war zone. Tax free pay, family separation pay, haz duty pay, I was Rollin in cash. It was also just me and my wife, not us two plus the baby. And now there's none of that bonus pay coming in, and more money going out... Shore Duty sucks.

I have noticed that DA is doing a lot more selections lately as well. I'm headed for Korea shortly.

 

I've noticed a trend of a lot of armed forces personnel doing the whole reef tank thing.

 

I think that a lot of us are maybe just being more up front about it. That could be one possibility. The Military also tends to keep us very busy and that makes it hard to keep up-to-date on the forums lol.

Right now I'm stationed at Fort Lewis, WA which is right by Tacoma, WA. ;D The Great Northwest lol.

 

i LOVE the northwest!!!!!!!! how often do you see your tanks and stuff?

 

Right now every night for the most part. My wife does an excellent job of taking care of them. I have already talked to one of my LFS that has a guy that does tank maintenance. He said that he would help my wife take care of the tank while I'm in Korea for no profit on his part. He would only charge my for travel time and gas for the most part. You can't beat people that support the military and understand. ;D Oh, I will be in Korea for a year.

 

Cool guy! I hope I can get a maintenance guy when I leave for the summer. When are you going across the pond?:-0
