    Have seen some really "giant" leathers when diving...5+ feet and even much larger...

    Can be called a "mushroom" but this particular one, more often a Toadstool Leather Coral (a.k.a. Sarcophyton Coral, Leather, or Trough Corals)

    Over in the Seattle Aquarium, they have a couple that must be 3+ feet across top in their Tridacna tank...(clams 3-5 feet wide)

    They can get awfully large.

    Mine will get pruned when gets a bit larger...expect I have about two months at most.

    At this point, growth is almost exponential. :-/

    its an amazing specimen. i love the idea on how they just hang out like that.
