While the discounts can be fairly good they aren't that good. I can only speak for myself, but by the time you factor in boxes, coolers, bags, etc. and the actual shipping charge we almost always end up eating part of the shipping cost...it's just part of what you have to do if you want to be competitive.

This is one of the major reasons we used to trade frags in thermoses. No heat packs, no cold packs.....just box up a thermos with some peanuts.

Well thank you so much everyone for assisting me. It's what I thought, just seemed so unreasonable, I figured I must have been wrong.

Seems like the price has almost doubled in 2 years, big bummer. :-/

That's insane! I have shipping gsp vs USPS overnight without any issues. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper too.

Yeah I did the same with xenia, with no problems. I just do not have the heart to ship my sps that I have been growing out for months. Buy local I guess, is the way to go or vendor.

Yea, I have shipped about 10 boxes with USPS and never had a problem with any of them. All the fish and coral arrived safely and happy! Don't judge a book by its cover! For only one box you should be fine!

Sounds about right to me. You have to remember \, what we pay for shipping from dealers is a lot less than what we would pay shipping one of our own corals. 3lbs is a lot of weight too.
