So, do the math. You're going to trade a tank that you paid $194 for for a tank that's worth less than $100. Nope, I don't see a bargain here :) Keep your new tank and have the LFS drill a hole and install an overflow in it.

I cant say he is giving you a hookup. If it was a great deal than you would of jumped on it already. I wouldnt buy shady equipment. Make him work for it.

I wouldnt do it. Plus dont do the lights. The one bulb went out for a reason...a ballast, a short, etc. Something is wrong with it...can eventually short out the other bulbs or WORSE short out all together and catch fire (somebody in my local club just had a MAJOR fire in his house from his lights)

Plus you would have to replace the bulbs that are in there right away...cause you do not know how old the bulbs are and unless you have a PAR meter. When bulbs are old they give a different spectrum which might not be noticiable to the naked eye.

I would just save up and get it right this time. If you are going to get a new tank..why not upgrade bigger?

I don't have room for a bigger.. and for the time being 55 is pleanty I'm sure once me and my g/f and son get out of my grandmas spare tralior... I will get a 75 or even a 100gallon at least but for time being I can barley afford to set it up at a FOWLR lol thats what Im aiming for for at least 6-12months.. get a nice stock of coral friendly fish of course.. and would a tang live in a 55g comfrontablly?
