I bought a Potters Dwarf Angelfish about a month ago and it hasnt taken any prepared foods ( pellets, brine, nori ) but its fat as every and just continually grazes on algae in my tank on the rocks. Should i be concerned that hes not eating. When i bought him at the LFS he ate there i dont know why he wont eat. Any suggestions on how to get him to eat? and should i be concerned

I wouldn't worry too much about not taking prepared foods, just a long as you can keep that supply of algae going for the fish to graze on.

How old is the fish? Sometimes fish take a day or two of "practice" before it will take food from you. It is stressed out from the move (fish store to you) and it just needs some time.

thinking this type of fish needs particular kinds of sponge in its diets and I also believe that the kind of sponge it needs doesn't generally grow in our tanks (i.e. not your typical hitchhiker)

if that's true, i'd be concerned.

some time back I had a CB dwarf angel and it was fat and happy for a couple months and then was just dead...

then i realized the foods it was taking didn't have sponge... :-/

    hope it helps
