Does he still have his anemones? I have heard it is hard to keep their anemones alive in a tank, and after the die the crab will just hide.

James, why do you say the blood and skunk are not compatible? I've had a fire (blood) shrimp in the same tank as a skunk cleaner for about a year. I've never had a compatibility problem with them. The skunk was the first one in the tank and is bigger than the fire shrimp. Maybe I just got lucky.

No, he said that the Blood/Skunk shrimp are not compatible with a CBS. Blood and Skunks are fine together. So would a Pistol Shrimp be okay?

I have a Tiger Pisol with my Cleaner Shrimp and they're fine together. My pistol did take a pop at the Cleaner, but that's because the Cleaner tried to go into the pistol's "cave" (this was before we had a goby for him) and he didn't like that. Ever since then they've been fine together.

One thing about Pistol Shrimps is that they are absolutely OCD when it comes to moving sand. At least, mine is. If you get one, make sure you don't mind your sand bed changing shape every week. You'll have the cleanest sand in the world though! :D

To get teh best out of a pistol, get a goby with him. We had our pistol shrimp with a Hi Banded goby (big shrimp, small goby), and they never "found" each other again. Goby died. We bought a Pinkbar goby, and they were paired up 2 days later, and have been together ever since. I seriously looked behind me just now, and there goby is keeping watch, and shrimp is bulldozing. They changed burrows last night. However, we have gone up to 36 hours without seeing either the pistol, or goby. They're awesome when they show up though.

I've had CBS since I started my tanks. I've never found mine to be mean or anything. The does his own thing. Very rarely I do catch him pecking at a fish, but I think it's more cleaning than mean. He loves a nice chunk of raw table shrimp, every now and then, too! After lights out you can catch him scouring rocks!

How about the Gold/Yellow BCS? They stay much smaller so they'd have a tougher time bringing anything down.
