My 55 gallon reef has lots of rock with as much aiptasia. Currently I have one good size scarlet cleaner shrimp that I rather enjoy in the 55. I purchased two slightly smaller peppermint shrimp a couple days ago and they are now in my 20 gallon refugium/sump now. Do you think the shrimps will get along if I put the peppers in with the scarlet?

I am not sure about that--but while we are on the subjects of shrimp... I have a LOT of bristleworms. I don't mind them--I know that they are good things--but these things are multiplying like crazy.

While I know that they are good things--I would like to be able to keep them in check a little. I am not ready for fish again at this point---but had heard that something like a boxer shrimp would eat them???? Not really sure I want a coral banded shrimp---but do want some invert suggestions and ideas.

Arrow crabs. Nice to look at ;)
They eat everything. Algae, caulerpa, bristle worms.
They are also fish bait to some of the larger fish :(

And they also become aggressive as they get larger. There's a reason they have that long "nose". They use it to spear fish.

If you have a lot of bristleworms it means that they are getting too much to eat. How often do you feed and what kind of foods are you feeding?

Shrimp pellets, marine algae pellets with garlic, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and some cyclopeze along with an occasional dose of marine snow.

No, don't feed all of this all at once. The pellets target feed the hermits and shrimps, the mysis and brine shrimp target the tube coral that I have, and the rest of it targets the filter feeders in the tank.

I try to back off of one or the other depending on how much of the mysis and brine shrimp end up floating around in the water.

OK, now I know why you have so many bristleworms. You're feeding waaaaaaaay too much! I'm at a loss to see why you're feeding all this food? Target feeding hermits and shrimp is totally unnecessary. You want them to clean up the uneaten food from the sandbed so target feeding them is not really what you want to do and you're only polluting your water by doing so. Not sure what a tube coral is so I'm not sure what it's really supposed to be eating. As for filter feeders, they don't eat mysis and brine, they eat zooplankton and/or phytoplankton.
