How often should a cleaner shrimp molt? I have had mine for 7 weeks and it has molt 3 times. Is this normal? Seems like a lot to me.

My understanding is that they molt when they are growing and happy! Good job!

Raising this thread from the not so dead. I was just wondering this too as mine had molted through last night. I think mines molting about every 2 weeks. This time was funny because he did it in my one coral colony (not sure what they are sort of like xenia). I looked in the tank this morning and thought he was in there then I saw him trotting around the fron of the tank as he usually does when the lights are out.

Yup, ours molts about every two. We keep a log of all tank events (weekly readings, water changes, new additions, etc) but I'm too lazy to really average it out.

We also leave the molt in the tank for the added nutrients. It's usually gone by the next night.
