    thinking of getting a shrimp.

thinking of this one below. maybe 2 of them.

    Periclimenes brevicarpalis

are they good cleaners and being so called anemone shrimp, can I put them in without coral to start? will they work with a scarlett skunk cleaner as well?

And what about the coral banded shrimp, it says they are good cleaners but I read on here that they tend to eat things. if I got one of those, am I done, will it eat everything else?

and if I went with a watchman goby and pistol shrimp, could I have other shrimp as well or are they all going to kill each other?

What size tank do you have? Are you getting them as part of a CUC?

we are getting a CUC from reefcleaners. just snails. shrimp would be for entertainment, cleaning fish and anything else they will do. 28Gallon Nano cube.

Thats is also called a sexy shrimp. I don't have any but I have heard they do well in groups and will roam together at night. You will not have to have coral to keep them but will like lots of live rock to hide in. They are capatable with cleaner shrimps.

I advise against coral banded shrimps in a reef tank. They can be very aggressive towards other invertabrates. That being said I know of someone that has a coral banded shrimp that gets along with a cleaner shrimp, not very common though.

I do not know much about pistol shrimp. I believe they can be aggressive but tend to stay in their homes once they find one, therefore they shouldn't go hunting for other shrimp once a home is found.

In my opinion I would stick with the sexy shrimp, skunk cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp, and fire shrimp. On the skunks and fire shrimp I would say one shimp per 30gal. On the sexy shrimp and peppermint shrimp I would say one shrimp per 10-20 gal. But that is my opinion.

    Hope this helps.

Both skunk and fire shrimp will clean fish which is pretty cool.

I would get a fire or skunk shrimp and maybe two peppermint or sexy shrimp. IMO

yea, i've heard the coral banded can be aggressive, the one you are calling the sexy shrimp, the site lists a sexy shrimp, but also the one I listed which they call the pederson shrimp and say it will clean as well.

i'm thinking maybe an anemone/pederson shrimp, a scarlett skunk cleaner, and a pistol shrimp to go with a watchman goby.

the pederson is veyr pretty IMO. only problem with u getting shrimp is that if u get a YWG/pistol shrimp pair, the pistol shrimp will kill and eta and peppermint, cleaner, or fire shrimp u may have
