I have no idea of the outcome of using that type of silicone nor of any test to determine if there are any chemicals seeping in your tank. What did you use it on,if it is something easy to remove I think I would, razor blade takes silicone off glass pretty easy. It's up to you.

its on the ATO tank only, of course this goes to the DT, i can redo the ATO but is the damage already done in the DT? or would a 100% water change take out the contamanents?

Jeff, it may help to look up the active ingredient for the fungicide and see if its toxic. A small part of me says you're okay, since a lot of those anti-fungal sealants are used for faucets, toilets, etc. It seems like there would be strict regulations in using toxic or harmful ingredients in something as important sealing our drinking water.

Well, if your corals are not happy, I think that screams to be your issue.

The fish should not care, as they can deal with treatments in the water.

I personally would take the silicone out that had the fungicide, and use 1005 silicone. I know from my own personal experience that the ge stuff with no fungicide 100% silicone works great, so I will use that.

I know most anti-fungal/antibacterial silicones/agents use the addition of silver ions to make it resistant to it. These silicone agents can not treat bacterial or fungal agents in any type of medium- they are only resistant to it. However, having said that. If we look at the methods to which silver ions are added, we can attribute the addition of more than just silver. Silver ions are added via a zeolite, which unfortunately often contains either zinc and/or copper ions - to which we may be concerned.

Having said all this, there is no worry in using this in a FOWLR aquarium- however, in a reef aquarium, there may be potential for the copper ions to have some ill effect. In finish, if your snails and crabs are still healthy as horses- then I would assume the copper has had no effect and that you are in the clear.

My final opinion is that your coral health problems are completely unrelated to the use of the antifungal silicone sealant you have used.
