Didnt think about that good point. I finished it this morning. Its a very simple design. I hope i did it right. I'm definately going to add more to it. Cost me about $30 at home depot. How long should i wait for the silicone to dry? I was thinking by tomorrow it should be ok. I've been running a fan on it for a couple hours now.

Sweet, thats pretty impresive. Me being a poor person as well I can appreciate the masterpiece your sump is. It was actually a lot of fun creating it myself. Will my design work? Should I add more baffles or buffers not sure what its called. Also im gonna use the same hood and lighting my old tank came with. I believe its a full spectrum flourescent , is that good enough for the algae and the LR?

if should be but i have no baffles in my tank but i used a broken sump and cut it in to a square thats the part you see the bio balls and my fuge is a cut 5 gal water jug with a bulkhead in it my skimmer flow drops in to the top I have seen people with Rubbermaid tubs full of live rock and thats it so if that works i see no problem in yours

i think u might have some trouble with that setup <could be wrong> but yer glass baffles are very high if there is a black out it is quite posible that yer tank will drain out into yer sump and over flow it, but that depends on yer overflow box and what depth yer return line will be at in yer main tank, the water flow threw the fuge might be a bit much, for a fuge to work at its peak it has to have slow water flow threw it so what ever u have in there has more time to catch what ever it is that its tryin to catch
this design is what ill be making next for my tank

    hope this helped
