I assume I should at least a small skimmer on my QT, just as I wold have a larger one in my sump?
I will have the QT on different plumbing than the DT/sump of course. What would you recommend for a skimmer/other equipment for a QT?

-How much skimming would I need? I would think not a lot, as I wouldn't want to rid of treatments being used, but I would want some.
-What about water flow? Low, right? I wouldn't want to stress the fish/corals out any more...
-Filtration...could I go with a HOB power-filter? Recommendations? How about these? Aquarium Filters: Hagen AquaClear Power Filters

You probably don't want one if you are treating the tank, if you are QTing new arrivals then yes.

Get one like you would for the DT 2x the capacity.

Yeah I would only have it on when doing quarantine & when tank is empty as far as inverts. I will go bare bottom, for better sterilization. I will just have some LR in there. It will be a 29g, so I should use a 50-75g rated skimmer.

    What about powerheads & filter?

During QT you want to give the best water quality you can so yes. If you are treating then no filtration but flow is always good because many treatments take up oxygen.

Thanks. How much flow would you have in a QT? Would 2 Hydor Koralia Evolutoin 750's be good?
-How about the AquaticLife Internal Mini Skimmer 115 for the HOB skimmer. It is rated just up-to 30g, but I figured since it would be empty most of the time anyways...What are your thoughts? Anybody else?...
-As for filter I was looking into the Marineland Emperor BIO-Wheel Powerfilters(model 400). Is this any good?
-What about the Aquarium Filters: Hagen AquaClear Power Filters?

I should still go with a 2x water capacity for a skimmer. OK so..what would everyone recommend as a brand for my QT?.

    why do you say that?

I don't see any reason to skim a QT.

I'm not saying don't shoot for good water conditions...

A QT is only a temp home for live stock to recover from being ill and then will go back to the DT. So, I would vote no for a protein skimmer. jmtc

I'd say yes, if you have nothing else to spend money on equipment-wise.
