    Hello-

I know there was a thread about this very recently however I cannot get my skimmer to calm down.

I have the Reef Octopus 1000 internal skimmer. It is currently sitting in about 6-7 inches of water, and is 1 week + into its break-in period.

It is overflowing like mad at the rate of overflowing the cup every 5-8 seconds with medium sized bubbles. I let it run for a week like this thinking it would calm down, but it hasn't

    any suggestions?

Put it in less shallow water.... more like 6 inches.

Also, my Reef Octopus XP2000 is INCREDIBLY sensitive to water level changes. The water level needs to be absolutely steady.... no changes.

My XP2000 is driving me nuts, but others have had fantastic success with them,

    ok will do.

Yea, I sympathize because this thing is so temperamental I'm going crazy.

EDIT: my skimmer / return area of the sump was sitting at a steady 7.5'' and now it is sitting at a steady 6'' after I drained some off.

I will wait for the skimmer to calm down within the next few hours
