I have a sea clone 100 model POS.I know the main trouble is that I need to throw it away, but right now it's not an option, and so mabey one of you guys can help out.It worked fine till i sold my reef a few months ago,I took it apart and cleaned it,it sat for about 2 months, my 20 gallon new reef has been running for 2 months now and all it will do is either make millions of micro bubbles or overflow the cup,no matter where i adjust the air flow,it does one or the other or both. The only thing i had done to it was it had a small leak around the bottom o-ring,so I took some aquarium silicone and sealed it up.But mechanically nothing is broke,it been running since the beggining of this new tank with the air shut off just to slime it up a bit for the re-break in,and now I can't figure it out.Any suggestions:confused::confused:???? TIA

Hmmm very unusual that it would take a skimmer 2 months to break in and get its slime coat back. are you adding any different additives that could be overdriving the skimmer? is the water level consistent? i would just let it make its micro bubbles for a week and see if it can work itself out. not sure what to do.

The only additive i used was calcium,i've ran it for longer than a week, and yea being a 20 gallon,i have to top off everyday,so water level is constant,it also is setup for hob, which i was thinking as long as the pump is under water the level wouldn't matter, but i have filled the tank to the very top trying to raise the water level, but it didn't work,i'm at a loss.I'm not new to skimmers but i can't figure this one out.Had it apart many times without issues(i've actually been pretty lucky with this skimmer working good in the past)

darn, i thought i nailed it, well sure seemed like that was the problem considering either way too much air (no control) or no bubbles (water entering)...

    hmm im sorry good luck!

I know there crap, but i got it practically free, and on my budjet,it works(or a least it did)Also it has the maxi jet 1200 pump on it,but still it's a peice of junk,i can't beleive they're rated for 100 gallons, thankfully it's only on a 20! lol .I have had this one on 3 reef tanks now and never had this issue,it's just baffling me

I have 5 fish(clown, firefish, chromis, scooter blenny, and a bangai cardinal(all still small)I also cyclind the tank with a large dead minnow,i would think in a 20 gallon there should be enough organics(i would expect this problem with no load, but i'm all ready maxed on fish and may have to trade one or 2 in as they get bigger)so there should be at least a small load.My params are checking good though, everything is zero except for about 10 ppm nitrates which i consider somewhat normal.I don't know??

Thats what i was thinking, there ought to be enough junk to pull something, but thank you anyhow,if it goes on to much longer i may just run it over with my quad so i can see it smash under my tires!! lol !!
