skimmer pump

okay, my skimmer pump has gone kapoot and i dont really have the cash till next week to replace it now so now im sorta stressing for the inhabitants ..will they survive without the skimmer for at least another 7 days from now or do you guys and gals have a quick fix plan maybe hook up a flow pump with a hose to get it going again or am i heading for reef tank disaster??

What about an old school trick with some wooden airsotnes + air pump?! This should be definitely cheaper than venturi pump and could be used as a backup system in the future! Good luck old chap!

 

no worries, ive ran my system without a skimmer for a month before.

don't sweat it!!! My 30 hex has been in the experimental phase for 4 months now without a skimmer as my skimmer on the 75gallon tank broke, so the skimmer that I had on my 30 got switched to my 75 housing my Stingray!
Everything in my 30 is a-ok. Pacific long tentacle anemone, Niger trigger, six-line Wrasse, damsel, sea urchin, snails, peppermint shrimp, hermit crabs and clown!

Is this an impeller deal? What exactly happened?

 

hey problem solved just hooked a hose onto a venturi internel powerhead to the skimmer now its back to normal.. cheers for the responses much appreciated ....
