    I hooked up my skimmer and its working right but its making lots of little micro bubbles all over everything in the tank. Is that normal? I can take a picture if your not sure what I mean

    What brand did you buy? Skimmers usually have a 2-3 week break in period.

    That is common until they become seasoned or broken in. The plastic eventually gets a sort of slime coat on it and the bubbles dissipate. A week or two should do it.

    Can you not use a skimmer on a reef tank because it takes out the food particles the coral would eat?

    It will take out food particles. But it takes out bad stuff too. You can't have your cake and eat it too if you want crytal clear water.

    There are systems that don't run skimmers such as algae turf scrubbers. I have an ATS but I still run my skimmer for water clarity.

    Most people turn main pump off during coral feeding for a while.

    Oh ok. So if I just turn it off for a while after I feed then they should be fine?
