Just got my little goby and the next day, dead. Had some normal "new fish" curiousity and territory things going on, but nothing drastic. I was looking for a sand sifter for the bed. I think it may have been something else that killed it. I have some brittle stars, peppermint shrimp. Would have been one of them?

Sorry on the loss. I don't think the stars or shrimp had anything to do with the death. I think it just was not able to acclimate. Always check your parameters and make sure your phosphates and nitrates are low with no nitrite and ammonia. Make sure the SG is close or acclimate slowly until it is about the same using water from your tank. Aerate heavily during this process.

Shouldn't have been unless he was sick. How is your water quality and how did you acclimate? I have one in my tank and havent had any issues with my peppermints attacking it.

agree with John...if the starfish had anything to do with it...you wouldnt of found your fish dead...the starfish would of taken care of the carcass

My shrimp was nibbling on him when I found him the next morning. All my parms are good. Acclimated like I normally do. Possible chance he was not well when I bought him. I did not buy from my normal fish store. I am going to my normal place tomorrow and who knows what I will come home with!!! I want a sand sifter of some sort. Suggestions? Probably come home with a fish and some more corals, lol.

They will most likely never even come into contact with each other-so yes they'll be fine :)
