    hi all, i have a animal in my rock that makes a long clear or white web like string and puts it out in the current then pull it in when it has a meal on it, any idea what this could be? thanks all for your time....

    Does it looke like its coming out of a curved tube? If it is its a vermetid snail.

    sorry its on the back of a rock i can only see that it eats the slime it makes pulling the slime trail in

    vermetid snails good or bad im sure thats what it is.....thanks for the ID guys.....

    I have these as well. Could be anyway. There are several 3/8" to 1/2" tubes coming off my rocks kinda like a feather duster tube. When I feed each one lets out a stringy tentacle type thing up to 3-4" long. As odd as it is they don't seem to bother anything so I leave em.

    the only reason i ask is because it touched my zenia and it closed up till it pulled off it

    yes, they cause corals to close up, ide remove the damn thing.
