This is the fourth time my snail has flipped over. It is always in the same spot and every time I think he is dead but I flip him back over and he is fine.

    Any specific reason?

could be lack of food, old age, hermits. it happens. most snails can flip themselves back over fairly easily, so if it's staying on it's back, it might be on it's way out.

    Thanks

Once I flip it over it's fine again. There is plenty of food for it in the tank.
I just get annoyed with it having to flip it back right side up all the time

Astraea snails are well known for being unable to flip themselves over. Fact is, is that they are not reef snails, and actually native to areas around California, with flat rock beds that present little chance of them falling over. Unfortunately, our reef aquariums are filled with all sorts of weird and akward rock forms that are beyond their natural capability to scavenge across, and thus they end up taking back dives into the sand! Bummer :(
