    How exactly do you know when a snail is dead? I have 2 astrea turbo snails and they never move.

    Well....if they dont move in 48 hours I would say they are dead. Or you could take them out and smell them. If they smell foul then they are finished. They should smell like the ocean...fresh.

    Pick them up and look at the soft tissue in the shell. If it is retracted or doesnt move when you touch it, they are likely dead.

    Astreas are notorius for being unable to right themselves. Like mentioned, sniff them, and if they are OK, put them in right side up:)
