changed lighting from a 4x65w PC fixture setup to a 2x150W MH 10000k and 2x96w PC retrofit kit into canopy. My mushrooms all seem to NOT be opening up as much as they used too even though I've moved them to the bottom of the tank (19" deep).

    Any thoughts?

I would give them time to adjust, what was the colour temperature of the bulbs in there previously? and where aboutst were they before you moved them? If they don't improve you could try moving them around in tank.

You need to acclimate your system to the new lights. Lower any corals that seem to be affected.

I would put all your softies on the sand if possible until they acclimate.

Also run the Halides half of what you used too(Old lights) time wise then slowly put them on longer as the weeks go by.. Idealy 8hrs of halide is plenty in the end.

I have lots of softies under halides and they love it once they get used to the artificial Sun;D

Ah, good point. I actually am already doing that. Somewhere in my brain I was thinking, 'man...these guys are going to 'fry' going from PC's to MH's so I won't leave them on as long'. I still have the MH's on for only 5hrs. Hoping the dang ballast for the 2x96w PC's gets in today.

I have had the same problem with the fuzzy mushrooms when i upgraded my lighting system. I used to have five mushrooms and now i only have two litle ones. The lights like you said melted or simply dissentegrated them into my tank :(
