Solar tube lighting

Greetings from Australia! To overcome the rising cost of electricity and the expense of annually replacing halides I am looking at solar tubes. I have a four foot 400 liter reef tank. Can someone experienced in this technology tell me how many tubes and what diameter I should have? Queensland is the 'Sunshine State' currently in the grip of floods and loss of life....

I have no actual experiance with the sun tubes but I know there are a few members here that worked in a shop that tried this method several years ago... the search function may help you find the threads, be sure to include text in the post

Can't help with the tubes, but I like the idea! very interesting..

 

if I was a contractor I would totally do this......hide the tubes in a new wall extention created above my tank...i can see it...just cant afford to do it..lol
