Solatube Lighting System?

    In a place like the Caribbean, where corals grow under the normal lighting conditions year round, I say this is probably the best lighting solution.

    Unfortunately, I live in New Jersey, where some days there's nearly 0 sunlight, and definitely not enough year round. We'd need supplemental lighting here for 3/4ths of the year.

    I remember reading they had some burning issues as the surface waves condensed the light during the afternoon. I believe they installed a diffuser to cope.

    Here in the Caribbean we usually get good sunlight throughout the day from 6am to 6pm. This time of the yr it's a bit overcast but only for about 2 hours of any given day.
    I will use this type of lighting for my next tank in the near future when I get my own place. I may even use it as primary source of lighting for the whole house.
    I would be a bit concerned about the condensation problem but let's hope that they have actually rectified that problem.
    Actinic supplementation is the next issue but that's minor.
