ive been posting all over the place asking all kinds of questions and not getting the answers i want. so im going to try here.

    1. what going on when a zoa is melting?
    2. im going to start a 20g long frag tank looking at using t5 lighting but was wondering 2 bulbs or 4? does it reall matter?
    3. sps corals where should they be in a 55g tank? bottom middle top, does it matter as long as they arent being bleach?
    4. hob filter or a skimmer for a frag tank? no fish will be in there.

i have more but cant think of them atm. should write them down when i think of them :).

    1. ALOT. It could be alt/ca levels, excess nutrients. Not enough light, too much light... Zoa eating spiders. Need more info.

    2. 2 or 4 bulbs matters upon what you want to keep. Zoas, softies a couple of lower light LPS no problem. Clams SPS and higher light LPS I would say 4 bulb.

    3. I would say it doesn't matter as log as they hold color and grow. Refer to #2.

    4. Not a fan of filters personally, I like having a skimmer because I feed my corals, but not necessary. Also understand that no coral get 100% of its nutrition from light, so having a bit of fish poop is always a good idea I think.

I love my t5. I have a 4 bulb over a 55 and I can keep almost anything so far. I have a maxima clam that does great. So I would recommend a 4 bulb just in case you wanna add something more light demanding

A 2 bulb fixture on a 20l should be plenty of light for any kind of coral or clam.;)

In a shallow tank like a 20 long two bulbs will be plenty to keep what ever you desire.

    +1 Vinny.

+1 in a 20 long a 2bulb should be good... not nearly as deep as a 40+ so shouldn't be an issue...
