Hey Sparky it sounds like you're trying the water change route. If this is what you're testing I would recomend one larger change over many smaller ones. This will get more of the bad or contaminated water out.
The smaller ones are taking out both "bad water" and water you've changed the day before.

Just a thought. Anything looking better?

    RS,

I was just about to post the same thing. I am thinking 25-30 gallons all at once.

Otherwise your dilution rates are very small. If the tank were doing well then small changes are better. If there is some sort of contamination or poison in there then you need to get it out in bulk.

    Maybe even 35-40 gallons

OK, another newbie stretch. Could there be a big nasty growing in your sandbed? Maybe something anaerobic that has become exposed to the water.

I agree with ALW, thats what I told you to do long time ago. I think that you got a bad batch of salt mix. I would have done a 45g(50%) WC wait 2 days and do another WC(25g) wait 2 days and do a 15g WC and last but not least, a 5gal WC. Plz keep us posted. Luna

I have to wait until I receive my Coralife salt to make that large a change. Right now, I just have a small amount of the H2Ocean salt, to hold me until the Coralife salt arrives. I'll have it Thursday.

When it arrives, I'll be doing 15 gallon water changes daily. :)

    Thanks all!

A large water change can do more harm then good. He's dealing with stressed corals. A large water change will stress them even more. Hes doing the 5g changes per my request, but I intended them to be done with the coralife salt. I have done this method several times, and Im sure my coral load is greater then the average reefer. Im sure Ive killed more corals then most reefers by stressing out already stressed corals. 5g water change every 2-3 days limits the stress. The only time you do a huge water change is when you know for a fact what you are dealing with like a large ammonia spike or something of the sort.
