    Over all set up.

    GOT A NEW Vertex ballast, It's supposedly exactly the same as a Icecap but 30 dollars cheaper. The ballast it's replacing is a old magnetic dinosaur.

    OLD HORRIBLE BALLAST

    The new ballast runs alot cooler and is Silent! The old one would hum like a transformer. Also the vertex it lights the bulb 2x as fast. The only possible way the old was superior was it had a switch, but that doesn't matter because the hum was horrible though.

    Ok you guys deserve a update(with pics but not now). I got my powerheads 2 coralvue 101bs(appearently they are shipping modified jvp-101's now as the new model).

    I got a two little fishes phosban reactor, using a maxijet 400 with it.

    HOWEVER I am not running phosban in it. I am running a little something special in it, I will reveal what I using when I post next pics. It has made my nitrates drop 15 ppm in 4 days, now my api nitrate test kit is useless, I will be getting a low range test kit soon(haven't decided the brand).

    I'm extremely happy with the progress I'm making, all algae is vanishing and the few sps corals I have are coloring up.

    OK pics, check out the two new powerheads, they are coralvues 101B. Yes I know they look like sun sun, but they are the new model, basically coralvue only sticks a titanium shaft in there.

    Little update:
    current parameters I checked for recently
    Mag=1200
    Nitrate= less then 2
    phosphate= less then .1

    Ok so the biopellets are working but I still wanna drop phosphate. I have only been doing a 2 gallon water change every few weeks.

    I got some new test kits and a stronger powerhead for the biopellets coming. Hopefully I will be better able to test for nitrates and phosphate with the saliferts(using the LFS to test with red sea kits right now).

    Also I have some amino acids coming to hopefully improve polyp extension.
