It shouldn't be your live rock. I haven't read you past posts that I can remember. What do you have in your tank, how often do you feed and what do you feed? How bid is your tank?

What kind of substrate do you have ? What type of filtration are you using? What is your maintenance schedule like? How's your clean-up crew? What do your nitrates measure?;)

    DIY coil denitrator

My advice is to make a DIY coil denitrator they are very easy to make, only takes PVC pipe and fittings, Bio Balls, and air line tubing. This unit is very cheap to make I have had mine for 2 years now and my nitrate has been at zero now since the denitrator cycled. It is the best thing I've ever done for my tank, can be done useing syphon or with powerhead to move water through denitrator. I use syphone only problem syphon has to be restarted if it is lost during water change acctera. It is basically maintnance free.

Every carbon source ends up as NO3 as it decays . And with that being said you have to deal with the NO3 in a different manner and a coil will do the trick I have never had a issue with NO3's been using a coil for 30 plus yrs one here has been around for 15 yrs now .. But if you make one ? Don't use airline tubing it can kink and flex a bit use polypropylene tubing
