Speed Of Growth?

If each of these corals had their own specific perfect conditions which of these would have the fastest growth rates? Which the slowest?

Maybe ranking from fastest to slowest is too difficult. So possibly group them for me. Fastest/Medium/Slowest. Don't be afraid to throw in some other common SPS/LPS categories.

Acros
Acans
Monti Digi
Monti Caps
Favias
Lobos
Fungia Plates
Chalices

I understand that some acros may grow faster than other acros. And that can probably be said for each specific group, but in general how would you group the entire category.

I just don't know the general expected growth rates and if I could compare them to growth rates of things I do know then it will help me when I buy a small frag to know what to expect and how long it will take.

You really can't group them. It all depends on your tank.

 

So there is no way to estimate growth ever? Not even if each individual group had it's own perfect setting? I understand that if someone doesn't have good lighting then this stuff won't have good growth. But if conditions are favorable there still isn't a way to know if chalices would grow faster than Monti-Digita?

 

Personally, I don't think so. People say chalices grow slowly, but all of mine grow faster than my GSP. I have a monticap that hasn't grown at all in months, but have an acro frag that is now a mini colony in a month. If you feed the acans, they will grow faster than GSP as well.

Acans
Monti caps
Monti digis
Chalice
Favia
Acros
Lobo
Fungi (I always kill them)
