Anyone have experiences with these? I haven't had one even close to long term but at least it's trained for food now and eats well.

we have had ours for about 4 months now. Unfortunately was doing a water change and air got to the sponge part of it and part of sponge died. It is slowly recovering but they need lots of food and pristine water. We have ours in our NPS tank

Great to hear! What do you guys feed the most? Mine seems to like golden pearls, oyster feast, and the zooplankton/ very small pieces that are in PE mysis.

Any growth out of yours yet?

we had some growth in the begining but then the air hit the sponge.....so still recovering.

We feed such a variety of foods. We have golden pearls, ROE, oysterfeast, phytofeast, cyclopeeze, zooplantonos etc. We alternate what we feed

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sounds like an excellent subject for a write up.

Never purchased one because I have been so scared of the feedings and loosing the poor thing. Might reconsider it depending on how often you feed?

ours is in our NPS tank, so it gets fed ALOT a couple times a day. Make sure it is placed in an area with indirect, but very good flow.

A shaded area is also better because algae or cyano WILL grow on the sponge. The symbiotic zooanthids help with deterring it but as you can see in my pic it will still grow on some areas.

Those are seriously some of the coolest and more beautiful sponges out there. I have never seen anyone have long term success with them though. Simply I think based on the amount of attention they need to survive.

Hopefully my NPS build will break this trend in the future!
