    So here is a thread for all of you to post your unexpected sponge appearances as well as hopefully a specific ID (thought very hard) and personal experiences.

    I use to have a beautiful colonial tunicate that didn't survive the transfer in my new system...

    However I have a few of these guys and they don't seem to be getting any smaller...

    I have a few of these on different rocks. Some are in the shape of a ball and they are all white.

    thats quite cool how it spread on that "cut" in your rock

    My last system was full of those and the ones Rolo posted except pink. Unfortunately they don't take to transfer too well.

    Early on, I had hundereds of small Pineapple sponges' but the system, of my dwarf angels, now a rarely see one.

    I do have about 2-3 small (1-1.5cm) sponges like the one you posted in the OP pic.
