I just got these frags. My Montis I've had for a while have been fine. I have been watching them every day. These just showed up today.

My Bonsai and blue Acro both new.

My Jedi Monti I had for a while.

And my new Purple haze. Sorry for the crappy pic, but you get it.

I have been looking at my tank a lot lately after lights out. I can't see anything crawling. Do I have pests?

    %@#%#$%!!!!

I have bugs. Lifted up my frag plugs and wahla. They are fast, oval, sort of beige. Probably as big as a....grain of sand.

Is it too late to do dips at this point. I saw a pic recently, I guess they are flat worms. Darn fast for a worm though.

    URRRRGGGHHH!

Lax quarantine practices finally caught up to me.

    You sure they're not pods?

Could be a pod of some type.... can you id it yourself since they are too fast for pics.

I just starting iodine dipping..... Ive been taking lots more precautions now.... after I dipped my recent corals... nothin but bugs and asterina stars left in the dip... scary

I have the shrimp amphipods, and the tiny little swimming pods. These are not those, but I can't say they are not harmless.

    Here they are.

Have you doublechecked alk/cal/mag? Spots can show up from chemistry that is out of whack.

In the first pic those acro frags are pretty close to that other coral, it's possible those are stings, I would get them away from that caulastrea at least.

Most flatworms are relatively harmless. Unless you have some sort of rare predator I wouldn't expect to see damage on both acros and montis from the same predator/pest.
Here are some pretty good pictures and info on getting rid of flatworms.
    Melev's Reef - Visual Identification
Melevsreef.com - Flatworms | How to eliminate them!

Some info on the acro predator flatworms.
    Melevsreef.com - AEFW | Acropora Eating Flatworms

And an article on dips, may as well just read everything on melev's site honestly, lots of good info. :)

Thanks Screw for the info. Can't do anything about it tonight. I will have to get some dip after work tomorrow. At least with it being early, hopefully I can.... never mind. Actually, it's been like two weeks.

I'll look more at this stuff tomorrow.

I really don't think it is stings. I have been looking at my stuff after lights out. And yes several of my small frags can send out some impressive sweepers, but I have not seen anything close to these. Two of the frags are not by anything.

I recently had these flatworms on two corals.

Didn't seem to harm mine though. They moved slowly so I don't thnk they were the same variety. I've heard of acro eating flatworms. You have montis that are affected so I don't know.

Every new coral I buy is now dipped in iodine and Flatworm eXit. I sould try to get a hold of some Interceptor and dip with that as well for red bugs.

Sound like a nudibranch to me, that would explain the montis being eaten, but not the acros. Maybe red bugs? It does seem like you've got something. Have you noticed any adverse effects on the lps?
