I bought a staghorn sps coral that had some white areas on the bottom. I figured I'd frag off the healthy areas and pitch the rest. I fragged it and it started bleaching from the bottom all the way up to the tip. Some of it is bleached and white. Some of the frags are till partially purple but mostly bleached. I figured it was a good idea to do a lugo's dip. I'm not seeing any pests on it and am confussed on what might be killing the coral. I have all kinds of sps in this tank and they are all doing very well. Any ideas on what it could be?

If it is just the tips then it is the coral growth that you see white. I have one and all the tips of the coral are white.

Is it bleaching or is the flesh coming off?

Bleaching could be just the change in lighting. Typically if it starts at the bottom it could have RTNed. It's not uncommon for a new piece to do this.
I would try to lower it the coral to your sand bed and see if it improves

The bleaching started at the base and worked up to the tips. Some of the frags are now bone white, someare a off white color. I'm assuming the really white ones are dead?
