Also they will not tolerate copper-based medications. Like with Linkia starts The drip acclimation method is the best way hell for all Sea Stars for that matter I take about 3 to 4 hrs to accilmate my Linka starts I'd a;
also would handle this one the same way..
Its because of they can not tolerate large or sudden changes in water chemistry. It should never be exposed to air while handling either and they are better off in a well estalished older aquarium also..

Oh and if you keep corals ? better watch it they maybe become food .

 

how slowly and what are your parameters? they need 1-2 hours dripping to properly acclimate (I know a bunch of you will disagree about that, but it's IMO)

 

i have known very mean coral banded shrimp. if it just the tips of the legs, possible. If its melting off then there may be something else.

 

it started to get better for a couple days, and then it just started to go down hill again. his guts started to come out this morning so i took him out of the tank. i dont want him to kill everyone just cuz hes a pansy... :-(
