"Solves Algae Problems." It is a really vague statement. Most likely it wont, I have to say.
You have to find the source of the problem(s) thats causing the algae in the first place, otherwise they will come back. You have algae problems in your 14 gallon?

Good readings on your nutrient levels are false-- the algae is feeding on the nitrate and phosphate, just like the bacteria feeds on ammonia and nitrite.

There are a lot of snake oil products on the market. If you're lucky, it will do nothing at all- Some have proven harmful to corals despite their claim. If it does kill algae, then you have nothing feeding on your nutrients; you will also be releasing nutrients back into the water, as well as increasing nutrient levels from the algae die-off. The best solution is to find and eliminate the source of nitrates and phosphates.

Detritus collects in the cracks and crevices in the rocks as well as in the sand. You can use a turkey baster to clean your rockwork, and if you don't have any sand-sifters, vacuum the sandbed periodically. If you have any type of mechanical filter, clean/replace the sponge/pad/fiber more frequently. Prefilter sponges on powerheads and skimmer intakes will also collect detritus. Anywhere that uneaten food and waste can collect will raise nutrient levels if left unchecked.

Having too little CuC can allow detritus buildup where it can be reached, but there will always be places where it can't in any tank. :)
