    ok i added a piece of shrimp to my 28g nano cube its starting to turn colors i was just woundering when do i know when its completely done cycling and should i do a 10g water change at the end of the cycle and start up my skimmer ?

    the trick is testing at this stage, the best way to know when a cycle is completed is
    with seeing the Ammonia and nitrite spikes

    although it will happend with or without you seeing it, so waiting 4 weeks and then testing for nitrates, which if you have some, means that ammonia and Nitrite have already peaked and declined.
