A Firefish will fit in its mouth. So will a Damsel or Occ. Clownfish.Just because you have never seen an Eel eat a fish does not mean it won't.;) I have never heard a predator described as peaceful.LOLThe wild Snowflake Eel is a nocturnal predator, ambushing fish and crustaceans

And yes absolutely a tight fitting lid is a must when keeping any sort of Eel.

The Engineer Goby should be kept in a 55 gallon or larger aquarium with a coarse sand covered bottom where it may make burrows. It needs peaceful tank mates and plenty of hiding places. Small groups or pairs tend to do better in an aquarium, but need to be introduced simultaneously to the tank.LA

They can also cause aquascaping problems as they dig caves under LR. If your rock is not secure they could cause avalanches. These also reach a foot in length. I have had these several times in FO tanks and they do quite well in groups.I have also found that they are more sucessful making the burrows if the substrate is not super fine as they need burrows to feel secure.

good choice. my snowflake destroyed over $200 worth of fish...and then jumped ship after i put him in his own tank. PITA to say the least. needs lots of care and special attention.
