It is a dry heat, yeah right !
There a couple of fish I hate to see in community tanks, under 90 gallons or less.

The first one is Mandarins, they eat much more than people imagine. I would say that it would be really hard to keep one feed without adding pods routinely. I know that people say, well they are eating frozen or prepared foods, but long term I also see those same people come back in 6 months and say well he mysteriously died. IMO they are best in a tank housing few fish where algae is allowed to grow, or a tank that meets the needs of non-photosynthetic corals, sea horses or pipe fish. And lastly a long established tank over at least a year old.

The second fish is the Sleeper Goby, another fish that appears to do well and be eating for months on end and then slowly waste away.

There are always exceptions, so this is just my .02 cents. :)

If I was to get one, I know I'd definitely have to add pods frequently. I know most ppl recommend to stay away from mandy's, but they're just so dang cool! haha. I dont know though, I definitely want something that will thrive in my tank, not just "stay alive" ya know. I'm pretty in btwn on the angel and gramma. We shall seeee.... Thanks though :)

Yes, I had one in a 38 gallon going by Live Aquaria's saying it was ok for a 30 gallon back then. I felt bad for it once it started flashing, it just didn't have enough running length. How long is your tank?

My tank was 3 ft, as well. I personally wouldn't put one in less than a 4 ft. He would try to zoom starting at one end and would have to pull up short or hit the wall. He never really could get going. Also, is your tank covered? He skimmed the top a lot, but I had a canopy. They're known jumpers.

Hmm dang, we'll see.. I might end up getting a diff kind of wrasse. The flasher's are just super cool looking, but we'll see we'll see. I have a cover I made out of a window screening kit.. So that should contain any attempted acrobatics..

    Thanks for the help sushigirl!
