So i'm looking to start stocking my tank with some soft corals and other things. I started out with a simple frag of some mushrooms and they seem to be doing great. I was looking for something with some color and came across dendrophyllia and sun corals. Does anybody know anything about these and how their care is, as far as lighting, feeding, etc. I have a biocube 29 with the stock lighting, a 10,000 K PC and a Actinic PC.

If these aren't good choices, does anybody have any recomendations for something that would work with my lighting.

One other thing, my tank has been up and going for about a year now and I was looking at getting a mandarin. I have plenty of LR and LS but was worried about my copepod population. Is there a good way to help increase this so if I do decide to get one I know it will have enough food?

Thanks in advance. Oh, i forgot to mention, the only fish I have right now is a pair of ocellaris so will the mandarin get along ok with them?

Those are non light demanding corals and are hard to keep IMO i would stay away while ur learning the ropes. They do need to be spot feed alot, but are awsome looking corals IMO! Theres always my favorite coral even after all these years and thats some good old GSP :) try some zoas as well

and yes the clowns and mandy will get along fine

Yep, dendos and sun corals are non photosynthetic, so lighting does not matter. However, they are touchy and require constant manual feedings, so they are best left till you get some miles with the corals under your belt.
If you already know mushrooms, you can always get more of those. Mushrooms/ricordeas come in an endless supply of colors. Same with zoas and plays. Very easy and endless amounts of variations.
Here is an excellent vendor for awesome corals: The Reef Gardener They are also one of our sponsors.

Also, most leathers, xenia, star polyps, etc will do well with a biocube lighting and are easy.
Yes, a mandarin will do well with clowns. But a mandarin has no business being in that small of a tank IMHO. Just my 2 cents.

Also, with the mandys they need a very mature tank as most will not head prepared foods and only pods, so any tank less then at least 6 months old should NOT have a mandy :):):) hope this is all making sense
