    snowflake & tomato clowns? well the snowflake will be well fed unless they are large tomatos.

    one of my books said they eat inverts not fish. is it possible to have 2 fish with the eel?

    When I bought my tank from a guy he was successfully keeping a 16" Snowflake eel with a yellow tang, blue hippo, 2 clowns, harlequin sweetlips, 2 damsels, starry blenny, AND a coral banded shrimp!

    He'd typically feed it 2 or 3 silversides per day so I guess it was never hungry enough to turn on its tankmates.

    well in days gone by we used to feed our snowflake feeder goldfish & minnows, so yes they eat fish. ours ended up in a 55 lion tank where the fish werent big enough to eat and inturn they didnt mess with it. definitely not the preferred size tank but at that time in the hobby it was pretty common.

    anyways moral of the story is I can most definitely confirm they eat fish.

    could I have it with 2 fish in a 50 gallon? my guess is no, am I right?

    this was about 25 years before you came about. lol. alot has changed in the hobby since then. before it you could fit it in a tank you were good.

    lol, sorry I thought you meant can you have the the lions from the story I was relating.

    as far as the tomato's/eel I personally wouldnt do it, but thats based on my experiences. Like the poster above said he hasnt had issues, so its a 50/50 call.

    tomato clowns get like 5 inches don't they? I would be surprised to
    see a eel eat those!

    They get that big yes, but will the arrive that big? Probably not, that's what I was saying.
