    Hello again everybody,

I have a hang-on-back overflow box from aquacrylics (see picture below)

So far I am pleased with it, it works well and seems solidly constructed. My only complaint is that annoying water sucking noise that it creates when the water overflows the baffle. Are there any modifications that I may be able to make to eliminate or even lessen the sucking noise.

    Thanks for the help!

    -Mike

I had the same problem when i started with my prefilter and BL suggested the perfect solution. Just place some regular airline tubing into your down spout...something that will allow air to enter into the pipe, but not make the noise of suction. Don't make the tubing too long, just enough that it is a few inches into the downspout. I see that you have a filter covering the that portion so i'd suggest making a tiny little hole that would allow the tubing in. I now have a piece of airling tubing hanging off the side of my prefilter and it works great...haven't heard any noise for a long time.

Sorry, got the same issue. But I am not sure how what you suggest will work. I have a round filter that goes around the hose attached to the skimmer. It seems to have brought the noise down a bit but still produces the waterfall sound. Unless, I am off to a whole new issue here. Is this what you guys are talking about?
