saturday was the first day this strange behaviour started, the anemone ate his first fish, my picasso clown, not sure how still but he def ate him. ever since saturday the nem has been moving around different spots. and now today looks quite dif almost bad.

    sg 1.025
    ph 8.1
    dkh 3.5
    ammonia-0
    nitrites-0
nitrates 20-25 ppm a little high but the nem has been living through this for 5 months no problem
calcium 350 im trying to rise this and alk.
phosphates are high 1.0 still doing big water changes to remove

the mouth looks kinda open and like some of its body is fleshing away now. is this a sign of it dying?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Excellent images and beautiful anemone.

Your right unfortunately a gaping oral opening with protruding internal tissues is usually a sign of some sort of stress. I have seen this happen with the anemone returning to normal within several hours, hopefully that will be the same result you get.

Nitrates are too high for this type of anemone, while it will tolerate them for a length of time, months it will eventually show some stress response.

    thank you,
it has been one of my prizes in my tank and would love to keep it going, i was afraid it was dying. But it wasnt spitting anything out of its mouth so was hoping for the better. I have been doing 40% water changes once a week. Hoping to try and bring these levels down. i also switched to a new ro di device which has improved my water quality and been pushing my skimmer to the max trying to remove the excess deitrus from refugium I may have kicked up something doing that, but i let the sump tank settle for about 6 hours after i did that and the water was clear but who knows.

okay so i came home from work today to find my carpet stuck in a powerhead.( I at first thought the worst) after unplugging the powerhead i noticed it had done no damage to the anemone(Thank god) but the carpet is stuck in the fans casing i dont want to rip it out and cannot get a good angle to cut the plastic. so i have left the anemone alone with itself partially stuck in the casing, if i leave it for a few hours do you guys think the anemone will be able to free itself or what should i do. I touched the anemone and it is not slimy or breaking away,

Its stressed to all hell but still in good shape considering. any advice?

Take the power head/anemone out put in a container of display water and give it time to deflate, if it is not mangled.

    Good Luck.
